Qing Zhang comes from China. She was born in a family
with a tradition of Chinese medicine. She learned Chinese
medicine from her mother and aunt since she was a little girl.
She then received formal training in Chinese medicine for
many years. After her training in Chinese medicine, she worked
in a hospital in China for eight years before coming to England.

She joined a team of acupuncturists for anesthesia, working
in operations at the hospital, and completed many successful
cases of anesthesia from acupuncture for operations. She learnt
from the famous Dr Meng of Chinese medicine in the city of
Changchun. he was also taught by Professor Liu Gui Chun,
|
Sworking at the acupuncture department at the Renmin
hospital of the Beijing Medical School, who had 40 years of
acupuncture experience.

Qing Zhang is keen to learn new techniques and skills,
and she always tries to update her Chinese medicine and acupuncture
knowledge. She has often returned to China to catch up on
new techniques, and has attended many seminars and lectures
on various specialised subjects given by visiting Chinese
professors and doctors. She has been to The Master Course
of Chinese Medicine On Dermatology, taught by professor Li
Lin , who was a famous dermatologist in China. He wrote many
books on dermatology, and he was the head of the department
of dermatology at the Guang An Men Hospital of the Beijing
Chinese Medicine Institute. She has been to the 'Gynecology
in Chinese Medicine' course, taught by the famous professor
Shen Ji Yun from the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese
Medicine. She has been to the 'Gynecology Seminar' on Chinese
Herbal Medicine, taught by Professor Xia Gui Cheng, the director
of the Gynecology Department at the Affiliated Hospital in
Nanjing and professor of Gynecology at the Nanjing University
of Tradition Chinese Medicine, etc.

In 1989, Qing Zhang came to Southampton in the UK,
and she started working at the Eastleigh Osteopathic and Acupuncture
Clinic for a few years, before she began to run a busy Chinese
Acupuncture and Herbal Clinic in Southampton. She is a member
of the British Acupuncture council and is a member of the
Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is also a member
of the Association of Tradition Chinese Medicine.

In 1990 January, the Southampton Daily Echo published
an article about Qing Zhang's practice in Southampton entitled
'Dr Zhang Comes easy' . In 1998, the Southampton Daily Echo
in its Health Check section published an article 'Needles
try to weed out ciggy habit', talking about acupuncture being
used to stop smoking. On 6th November 2000, the Daily Echo
Body Soul section had an article entitled 'Chinese Herbs for
cure' including interviews with her Chinese herbal medicine
patients about how she had successfully treated skin problems
such as psoriasis, etc. (Click here to see the article). In
August 1997, BBC Radio Solent broadcasted a live interview
with Qing Zhang about her practice of Chinese acupuncture
and herbal medicine . In August 1998, BBC television South
Today broadcasted an interview with her and her patient about
her practice in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

Qing Zhang has given some
lectures in 'Ear Acupuncture therapy' for the Acupuncture
Association of Physiotherapists in the South. Qing Zhang wrote
an article entitled 'Acupuncture for Acute Prostatitis'
and 'Tradition Chinese Medicine: Cupping Therapy', both of
which were published in the Acupuncture magazine 'The European
Journal of Oriental Medicine' .

In March 2002, she was appointed as visiting professor
by Chinese Medical School, Beijing Xong Cai University, China.

John Zhang, as a qualified acupuncturist and Chinese
herbalist, was trained in both China and U.K He has been practicing
for 10 years. He is also a Tai Chi and Chi Kung master, offering
Tai chi courses in some colleges and Chi Kung class in our
clinic. He uses a variety of therapies in his practice, like
Guasha and Chi Kung therapy, apart from acupuncture
and herbs. John also has a PhD degree from Southampton
University.

| John regularly gives lectures to different colleges on Chinese
medicine and organise seminars in our clinic. He is also a language
lecturer and an expert on Taoism and traditional Chinese way
to keep in good health. |
